A large number of hosting applications were processed tonight, many of which were, for various reasons, rejected. If your site was rejected for hosting, don't despair! You still have a chance to resubmit. Here is a quick list of the most common reasons applications were rejected: - The supplied link to your concept site was broken
- The concept site was broken
- The concept site was 'under construction'
- The concept site was a simple forum with no real design
- The concept site had no 'hosted by AusGamers' button
- The concept site had a non-skippable Flash intro that took ages to load
- The concept site was really, really ugly
- The concept site was for some sort of weird, non-gaming personal site
- You had a fake address
- You had multiple reports under the same name with different addresses that were close enough to look suspicious - please just make sure you put your real address and don't get creative
- You had multiple requests all for the same site with different concept sites
- You had multiple requests for different sites with the same concept site
They are the most common reasons. It will really help your application if you have the AusGamers button featured prominently on your site. If you want to have a forum on your site, you'll get extra points if it is an AusGamers Forum. If you have an AusGamers Forum, you'll get extra points if you've taken the time to work on it so it doesn't have the standard skins.
Apologies to all those who missed out in this batch; please note there are still more in the queue so if you haven't heard from us yet one way or the other, your application is still in the queue and will be processed as soon as possible. If you did miss out, please do not just blindly mail us asking why - check the above list and see if you can figure out why your application was rejected first before doing so. If you've carefully checked everything in the list and you're still at a loss, post a comment to this item and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

I'm lucky, last time I submitted it must have been right before they were processed because I got an email back nearly straight away. Then I fixed what was wrong and wondered why it was taking so long the second time 'round ;)

WarHawk: You haven't got ur button in the top fold of the page... u might wanna quickly change that before they deny u again
*1 week or 2 isn't a long time pppl sometimes have to wait up 2 months before getting a reply.
good u have a working forum... they do prefer the ausgamers one ;)
Your main page is awfully big... u might want to move ur news into pages or archive it.
I'm on cable and it still took a little time for me to load it.
Now posted on these forums sometimes doesn't help u out much. Most of the time there are admins on Enter the Game - ausgamers IRC channel. If you do not have mIRC go to this site:
http://www.qgl.org/irc and there should be an admin there to sort out ur problems... I recommend Trog and Cold... They usually are really helpful. Private message them if its personally details.

ausforums dont support that yet as nathan is too lazy to write up docs for triumph =P but if you want a simple alternative for a little while until triumph is freely available i recommend phpBB as it is easy to use and has a great news mod

Yeah I suppose, better fix it asap =\
The main page is big because that was my old gaming site I ran for the local community that we provided news for, although I've fixed the problem for now and shouldn't take as long to load to preview it.
update: fixed :))

I feel a bit guilty seeing you guys have been waiting for months and I've only been waitin 1 or 2 weeks ;) but I agree it would help alot if someone just posted when the next time hosting applications will be processed.
I applied for nst.auscstrike.com and like with the others any news or info would be appreciated...
P.S. OH MY GOD!!! Someone has almost the exact same name as me!! Oh darn I'm not as unique as I thought... :'(

I process hosting applications whenever I get free time, and when I'm not doing other stuff like painting warhammer 40k miniatures. I generally do a batch of 50 or so each time though.

Incase it easier for you cyph, I just thought I'd post my app details again (I think it would be intelligent if you processed applications of people who are active on the forums first ;)

Current Site: http://users.bigpond.net.au/mags/nst/

you people don't seem to get it. do you think that cyph and the like just sit on computers all day looking at your application and think "nah, some other time"?
they are very busy people and you just need to learn some patience. whether you came 3rd at WCG qualifyers or came 2nd last in your local LAN comp, it wont make your application go through any faster.
just settle down and let the admins do their thing and they will email you as soon as they get up to you.
kthxbi (stolen from Exocet :P)

madzam: make sure you are uploading your files into csu.ausgamers.com/html in your ftp, and that your 'homepage' file is called index.html or something similar.
Last time i checked the script that processed applications was in need of an overhaul, so please be patient guys :D
