Apologies for the extended downtime; we restored services briefly over the last 24 hours for a while but have since shut them down again as we migrate some stuff around. We have no ETA for normal service restoral just yet, sorry - please don't ask, because you'll just be referred to this post. We haven't lost any data or anything, we're just not able to get it all back up again immediately.
Please note, we don't take very kindly to people coming in and abusing us for the service being down. We invest a lot of personal time into this thing and get nothing out of it - it is a free service and we make no guarantees to uptime for your site. If you find this arrangement doesn't work for you, then you're welcome to take your site elsewhere and pay for hosting.
We believe we offer some of the best free hosting you're ever going to get, and a few days of downtime is a fairly small price to pay. We are working on it and hope to have normal service restored shortly.

What are the chances that ausanime.com could get on the server that hosts OCAU and QGL so that it wont go down again like the current one? Is it possible, is money an issue there? How does that work, just a matter of users?

All is good, those who can't wait are babies... if they wanna host a CS site they should pay for some hosting ^_^
speaking of which good work and screw the abusers... you should find out their websites and shut them down, breach of terms (No abusing admins)

Cam we get an indication of whats going on? Is it broken, being updated not working and having people work on it, broken and no one wants to fix it now?
Basically is there a chance that it will come up before tomorrow?

wtf brought on that comment?
I can understand the anxiety some ppl suffer when their favorite passtime is suddenly cut off ( website creation and matainence can be strangley addictive) but I assure you just because someone has a CS clan website dosent make them selfish little whingers that should be made to pay for hosting, lol.

This downtime couldn't have come at a worse time! We were right in the middle of negotiating a new partnership and getting our gameservers back up and running :o(
The openended "it will be back up whenever" is not an option for me. I have to get my site back up and running asap. Is there any chance of me getting our db tarballed so I can move everything over to another host?

Trog,
Thanks for keeping us updated. As a former Help Desk person myself I know how important keeping people informed is, and so I appreciate the fact you do so :)
Don't mind some of us if we let off steam. It is normal. I admit that this down-time has had a negative effect upon the organisation of some of my clan's wars. But such is life. As you said, this is a free service and one we do appreciate :)
Keep up the good work :)
regards

"can anyone give me an ETA on the mail server being up and running again?"
erm.. yeah. Thx for the hard yakka so far, but email is where its at and stuff... I rely on it quite heavily and until now I've been using ausgamers because its (was) way more reliable than other mail servers.. any word guys? Is there somewhere we should send beer to speed up the process?
