As many people have noticed, the majority of the hosting services are back and working again. There are a few things that are still not working, one of which is CGI access. We have disabled CGI scripts while we investigate some associated issues with running them. Apologies for any inconvenience (but you should be using PHP anyway! :)

I tried to log in again and saw that it uses cgi-bin, so that splains it all.

http://www.phpbb.com/downloads.php
Download PHPBB and then get the 'ikonBoard 2.1.x converter'.
You will find phpBB is a better forum.

To login to qualmail leave postmaster use the full hostname e.g yourname.ausgamers.com and the pass they gave you unless you changed it.

Come on guys. You didn't exactly give us warning that you were going to disable .CGI scripting.
I wouldn't be angry if we had had some notice, but regardless of our choices of .PHP and .CGI you should inform hosted sites that you are going to be taking them out of action.
Our webpage has all but grinded to a halt as a result of actions and I would like some answers please. I mean both our News posting abilities and our forums are both MIA due to your changes.
When do we expect this issue to be resolved ?
I don't want to have to do it, but if you force me too, I will move hosting until this is resolved.
Arhg....

In the future threats like this are pointless because Ausgamers dont benefit from hosting your site. It's a free service they offer to the community.

Allow me to introduce to you fellow webmasters, InVision Power Board. http://invisionboard.com/ It is better than phpBB by far and the only defect is that it's poll editing is poor and that the MOD community isn't quite big enough yet as it is fairly new.

I have used both Invision Power Board and phpBB and I would say that if your just a regular member viewing forums that Invision Power Board is a heap better, but if your the admin of that board it is not so much fun at all.
I guess it is all up to personal preference though as I guess the default phpBB is not so great but the way you can manipulate the boards to the way you want is perfect for anyone who has a rough idea on what they want for their page and how to do it. I have never seen another board have so much control of the way it looks and works.
Just my 2 cents.

Actually I agree with you Stenz, we should've given some notice. We'll get things fixed up and then make some proper announcements with what we're going to do (if we decide anything we've previously offered as a service will no longer be offered).

My hosted site is is php, i believe it far exceeds the limitations of cgi! cgi for me was a rather annoying way of making a forum. I honestly have no idea how you people can use it, and more to the point when it breaks(quite often) to get annoyed at the people hosting your FREE site because of the instabilitys in the tech!!
And why must people ask the same question 1000's of times when its been stated that it will be fixed "WHEN IT IS".
So dont blame Ausgamers for problems with software when you are basically at fault for running it when you have full php usage avaliable to you.

When do you plan to offer applications again? Also is it possible to host a domain name? Thanks
